Bramble Bay Wins Pinot Grigio for New Connections

Michael Dubb’s Bramble Bay, who was the 123-pound highweight in the Pinot Grigio, won the 5-furlong turf race for New Jersey-bred fillies and mares on September 18 at Monmouth Park.

Bramble Bay tracked the pace set by Roselba racing along the inside before being angled out by jockey Paco Lopez at the top of the lane.  The 6-year-old mare passed a resilient Roselba in deep stretch to prevail by ½ a length.

Bramble Bay, who was claimed by trainer Mike Maker for her owner for $62,500 on August 3 at Saratoga, won the third stakes race of her career having previously been successful in the Jersey Girl Handicap in 2020 and 2022.  The daughter of Bullet Train (GB) out of Regal Rose, by Empire Maker now has a record of eight wins from 32 starts for earnings of $449,413.
