Cavalcade was purchased as a yearling for $1,200 and is best known for his performances as a three-year-old when he won six of his seven starts including the Kentucky Derby, the American Derby and the Arlington Classic. Cavalcade was sent off as the favorite in the 1934 Kentucky Derby and did not disappoint his backers, winning the race by more than three lengths.
Cavalcade was inducted in the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1993 and the New Jersey-bred Hall of Fame in 2012.
